Mechanical Design Engineer

Position and Responsibilities

• Support Team Leader in building up the mechanical design capability.
• Support Team Leader in developing systems design standards for mechanical installations like:
  • In-cabin cabinets and structural installation
  • External installations (antennae or cameras including pressure vessel penetration
• Work independently on mechanical designs according to structural substantiation and airworthiness requirements

Daily Activities

• Selection of equipment, components, materials
• Development of Mechanical Drawings (CAD)
• Preparation of Ground-and Flight-Test-Procedures
• Development of technical, safety and certification documentation (reports, analysis, assessments)
• Design lightweight cabinets and installations
• Develop engineering standards

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Engineering degree or similar qualification required
• Sound practical or design experience advantageous
• MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and CAD literacy
• Good communication skills in English
• German and/or French advantageous
• Goal-driven pro-active team player
• Dedicated to quality, reliability and safety
