At AMAC Aerospace in Basel, Switzerland, we get more and more requests for internet installations. Recently we have signed 3 contracts for installation of Satcom Direct’s Ku-band Tail Mount Antennas and we are the first MRO to install this technology on a Boeing Business Jet. Before the summer period starts, 3x Boeing B737 will have received the installation.
The Ku-Band has an advanced tail-mount design which uses only two line replaceable units (LRUs). This simplifies installation and configuration as well as provides a seamless and cost-effective connectivity solution. The high-speed internet is delivered via Intelsat FlexExec, which supplies satellite service specifically for business aviation. Because the network capacity is dedicated to business aviation, bandwidth is always available, even on busy routes.
