AMAC Aerospace Switzerland recently expanded its maintenance and completion facility at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg. By opening a new hangar and production facility, AMAC is now able to maintain or complete wide body aircraft. The official opening of the second hangar takes place on December 2nd 2010.

Within less than three years, the AMAC hangar facilities at the EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse have developed into one of the largest and most advanced aircraft maintenance & completion centers in the world, equipped with the latest installations and technological innovations.

The newly built and completed 8.400m² large wide-body hangar can accommodate for example one Boeing 747-8i wide body jet, one Airbus A330 and one Boeing BBJ/A320 size aircraft simultaneously, the hangar is also capable of hosting an airbus A380. With the completion of the new hangar the range of services in corporate and private aircraft maintenance, refurbishment, complex modification and completion are now extended.

Speaking on the day of the initial official opening, the management of AMAC, expressed the great satisfaction that the new facility could be opened on schedule. Heinz Köhli, Strategic President of AMAC Aerospace Switzerland Ltd. remains optimistic that the company can achieve its growth targets due to the new infrastructure: “we are pleased that we have been able to start working as planned, in fact we are ahead of our business plan. We believe that we will achieve our goals in the future too. The state-of-the-art infrastructure allows us to provide today a broad range of services to our customers and fulfil all requirements.”
