AMAC Aerospace’s Airbus team is getting ready for the arrival of a privately-owned A318 early July. The aircraft of an existing client will undergo a heavy base maintenance check. AMAC’s technicians will perform this major check – which will require up to 10’000 men hours – within a short ground-time.
The D Check or heavy base maintenance check is performed approximately every 20,000 flight hours; the aircraft is stripped to its shell and the cabin interior is removed to allow detailed structural inspection.
