Position and Responsibilities

  • Support to maintain and to keep the achieved Aviation Authority approvals
  • Performing the required NDT inspections and wheel overhaul work as needed to ensure a smooth maintenance operation. Such activities include NDT work as per authorization in the personal license and company approvals. Wheel overhauls, tire changes as per the relevant component manuals (EASA Part 145 / 21G)
  • Assist maintenance, required repair and certification of aircraft wheels as required
  • Ensures that all NDT and maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with corresponding manuals and ensures that such activities are correctly documented
  • Accomplish daily, monthly, quarterly, annually performance checks of Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Ultrasonic, Eddy Current inspection systems.
  • Support for ordering the required NDT tools and other equipment needed as per company capability list
  • Support to establish the list for the required spare parts and consumables for the NDT Shop
  • Coordinates planned and unplanned maintenance work activities by selecting priorities
  • Communicates the status and condition of such maintenance events to the relevant departments
  • Ensures that the required administrative and operational steps are taken to guaranty an adequate technical support in line with the set standards in the MOE
  • Coordinates the in time availability, ordering and shipment of the required materials and parts with the responsible Logistics Manager
  • Knows the status of the work activities at any time
  • Perform other duties which are given by superior
  • If required, assists by entering the computer data and researches technical requirements for the assigned work
  • Ensure that all manuals assigned to the departments in charge are kept up to date
  • Attendance during the daily production morning meetings when necessary
  • Ensures that safety has the highest value in all activities and endeavors

Qualifications and Experience

  • Appropriately qualified to Level 2 EN4179 in ET Eddy Current, UT Ultrasonic, MT Magnetic particle and PT Penetrant methods of inspection
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in an aerospace NDT inspection environment, EASA Part 145 organization
  • A thorough understanding of aircraft structures, materials and associated processes is desirable
  • Experience of composite inspection, bond testing and thermography is required
  • Flexibility to work on short notice and issue NDT reports as required to support Production Organization
  • Fluent in English verbal and written
  • Good knowledge of MS-Office (Word, Excel) and the ability to create high quality reports
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Driving license
  • Ability to pass a vision exam to 20/25 (Snellen) at 16″ (42 cm) ± 1″ (2,54 cm) or equivalent a in at least one eye, natural or corrected.
  • Personnel shall be capable of adequately distinguishing and differentiating colours used in the process involved
