About the job:
We are seeking an experienced Safety Management System (SMS) Supervisor to join our team at AMAC Aerospace Turkey, an approved Part 145 Aircraft Maintenance Organization. The SMS Supervisor will play a pivotal role in assisting with the implementation of safety processes to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with aviation safety regulations. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in aviation safety who is eager to support our commitment to safety excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor SMS processes according to established policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and assist management of changes, safety assessments, risk management, and mitigation processes within the organization.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure safety policies and procedures are adhered to and communicated effectively.
- Monitor and assess safety performance through data collection, trend analysis, and key safety performance indicators (SPIs), identifying areas for improvement and reporting to management.
- Prepare safety reports, documentation, and presentations for management and regulatory authorities.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and investigations of incidents and nearmisses; ensure that corrective actions are identified and completed promptly.
- Develop and coordinate the delivery of safety training programs for all staff, promoting awareness and understanding of safety principles and practices.
Qualifications:
- A degree or diploma in aviation maintenance, engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in safety management within an aviation environment, preferably with a Part 145 Maintenance Organization.
- A recognized qualification in aviation safety, risk management, or related field (SMS certification is highly desirable).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead safety investigations and risk assessments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Proficiency in safety reporting and documentation.
- Previous certification and experience as an internal compliance auditor is a plus.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to fostering a positive safety culture.
