In February 2024, an unusual task was awaiting AMAC Aerospace’s experts in the hangars at Basel. An Airbus aircraft of a private customer was stripped of the cockpit and the window frame. During a maintenance input the technicians had detected severe heavy corrosion damage within this area. In several steps the window frame had to be removed. First, all the cockpit instruments were removed in order to gain access to the structure.
The full window frame structure was replaced with a new one. This maintenance intervention was a great opportunity for our staff to enhance their expertise on the structural repair processes.
