Some weeks ago, AMAC opened its hangar doors to welcome a Bombardier Global 6000. AMAC’s Bombardier team is performing an urgent middle slat replacement on the privately-owned aircraft.
Slats are extendable, high lift devices on the leading edge of the wings of fixed wing aircraft. They are most often extended and retracted using hydraulically or electrically powered actuators. Their purpose is to increase lift during low speed operations such as takeoff, initial climb, approach and landing.
The OEM Bombardier sent an AOG support team to Basel, Switzerland, to deliver the replacement part. The installation is performed by AMAC’s Bombardier specialists; they look forward to returning the aircraft to its operations soon.
