Job Description

Position and Responsibility

  • Act as Mechanical Design Engineer designing aircraft internal and external primary and secondary structure, interior furnishing and system integration, like external cameras, antennas, heavy equipment and equipment racks installations
  • Good understanding of aerodynamics and weight and balance implication
  • Support the Team Leader Mechanical Design Engineering in administrative and organisational tasks
  • Ensure correct consideration and application of Certification Basis, Rules and Regulations, Means of Compliance and Interpretations in the engineering output for the product, system or installation designed.
  • Ensure adequate communication and liaison internally, especially with the Engineering Team as well as with external Third Parties.

Key Aspects of the Activity

  • Preparation of technical documentation such as reports, analysis, test procedures and installation instructions
  • Preparation of engineering design standards
  • Selection of equipment, components and materials
  • Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for structural interfaces on aircraft primary and secondary structure (e.g. monument attachments, cabin ceilings and supporting structure, external antenna and cameras installation, electrical racks and associated wire routing, additional water tank, etc…)
  • Preparation and Development of Mechanical Drawings in 2D-CAD and 3D-CAD
  • Good understanding of aircraft primary and secondary structure, good handling of  aircraft manufacturer’s documentation
  • Ensure correct consideration and application of Certification Basis, Rules and Regulations, Means of Compliance and Interpretations

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant engineering degree, Aeronautical Engineering or relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar function
  • Proficient in MS Office and popular 2D/3D design software (AutoCad, CATIA)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English – additionally French and/or German is advantageous
  • Ability to work independently
  • Accurate and strong attention to detail and safety
